I was chatting with a friend earlier this week about making pom-poms, and talking about the best ways to make them as our children all really wanted to have a go. I remembered this super easy way for young children to make pom-poms. It is a very slight variation on the traditional way of making pompoms using two cardboard discs cut the same size – to make it even easier, all you do is simply cut a slit in both of the discs before you start using the wool. Children can wind the wool round the disc, rather than having to thread it through. It makes it much quicker and easier. Continue reading

Super quick fork pompom

This is a super quick and really simple way of making tiny pompoms that my great friend Christine showed me. All you need is some wool, a fork and a pair of scissors and in next to no time you can have as many pompoms as you wish to make. Ted enjoyed making these and was really surprised just how quick and easy they were.  It was also a great activity for developing fine motor skills. I just know that we will be making lots more of these. Continue reading
