Christmas clothes peg bookmark

IMG_4111Today, Ted has been in the mood to make all things Christmas – pretty much all day, so there are going to be a host of Christmas posts coming up soon. He has wanted to make some secret presents for his Dad, and this is one of the first – we made these Christmas clothes peg book marks together as they are pretty tricky for little fingers. Easy pom-poms for kids

I was chatting with a friend earlier this week about making pom-poms, and talking about the best ways to make them as our children all really wanted to have a go. I remembered this super easy way for young children to make pom-poms. It is a very slight variation on the traditional way of making pompoms using two cardboard discs cut the same size – to make it even easier, all you do is simply cut a slit in both of the discs before you start using the wool. Children can wind the wool round the disc, rather than having to thread it through. It makes it much quicker and easier. Continue reading

We have been away for half term, and I took a small bag of handy and simple craft supplies with us in case of rainy days to provide something fun to make inside- luckily the weather was great most of the time, but these paper plate snakes were some of the things we made whilst away. We had made some of these ages ago, and thought they were perfect to make on holiday because they need very little in the way of materials. Continue reading

It has been a really wet morning, with no chance of playing outside, so instead we had a fun time making all sorts of things, lots of them with wooden clothes pegs, and wanted another quick, easy and fun thing to make and made these clothes peg planes. I am running a children’s craft workshop in a few weeks with Christine, a great friend of mine, and we are going to be making Spring Lambs.
