Fairies waiting for Christmas

Fairies waiting for Christmas

I was making some fairies for the Christmas Crafts workshops that I am running this week and next and Ted loved them and wanted make one of this own, which is in the middle. He thought our Christmas tree will need an angel on top, so has added a halo to his. I know that Christmas is weeks and weeks away, but we can’t wait to put them on our Christmas tree – I am sure that between now and Christmas these three fairies will be joined by many more. We have been using some wonderful fluffy wool for some of our fairies which gives them a really magic quality. Continue reading

Pop up Christmas tree card

In all of our excitement about Christmas, Ted and I have already secretly started to make pop up Christmas cards, and have tried this very simple version of a pop up Christmas tree card. It looks really effective and can be decorated in so many different ways – Ted used stick on stars and spots as baubles, but it would look wonderful with glue and glitter, ribbon, the list is endless. Here it is and I think it worked really well. It was a fun activity to do on a cold winter day, and Ted hung it out on a wonderful sunny day, so the sun shone through the flowers. Continue reading

Clothes peg snowmen

Here are Ted’s super cute cothespeg snowmen. We have been wanting to make some clothes peg snowmen for ages, and just before Christmas we finally got round to making them. They were simple and great fun to make, and we have been using them as book marks and paper clips. They look really sweet and all have their own personality and character. Ted was thrilled with them, wrapped them with woolly scarves and gave them each winter hats.  Continue reading

Ice baubles

Iced bauble

Ice bauble

This is a really fun craft to do with kids, which was suggested to me by my great friend Hannah D. Although it can be done at any time of year, and we have done it a several times so far, I think it is extra special at Christmas. We made these one afternoon last December, and Ted was so excited the next morning when we got them out of the freezer and hung them up.  Continue reading
