Christmas clothes peg bookmark

IMG_4111Today, Ted has been in the mood to make all things Christmas – pretty much all day, so there are going to be a host of Christmas posts coming up soon. He has wanted to make some secret presents for his Dad, and this is one of the first – we made these Christmas clothes peg book marks together as they are pretty tricky for little fingers. Ted is trying to keep them a surprise until the big day itself. Continue reading

Fairies waiting for Christmas

Fairies waiting for Christmas

I was making some fairies for the Christmas Crafts workshops that I am running this week and next and Ted loved them and wanted make one of this own, which is in the middle. He thought our Christmas tree will need an angel on top, so has added a halo to his. I know that Christmas is weeks and weeks away, but we can’t wait to put them on our Christmas tree – I am sure that between now and Christmas these three fairies will be joined by many more. We have been using some wonderful fluffy wool for some of our fairies which gives them a really magic quality. Continue reading

Well, it might be weeks until Christmas, but in our house, we have already been thinking lots about it  – Christine and I are running some Christmas Craft workshops over the next few weeks, which we are very very excited about. Plus – Ted has already started asking how many sleeps it is until Christmas, so already in our house we are rather in the mood for Christmas. I made this little clothes peg reindeer yesterday, and Ted loved it so much he thought I must include it in the workshop next week. Here is how to make your own. Continue reading

Dinosaur peg routine chart

Dino peg chore chart

Dino peg chore chart

With the Summer holidays having started, I realised I needed to introduce something to help us maintain some semblance of routine to help us keep an even keel over the weeks of holiday to come. With all the fun and variety that come with summer holidays, it is all too easy to let routine and order fly out of the window, so, to the rescue Dinosaur peg chore chart. It currently only focuses on the morning route, which I find with us, if we get the morning right, the rest of the day is more likely to go smoothly. Continue reading

It has been a really wet morning, with no chance of playing outside, so instead we had a fun time making all sorts of things, lots of them with wooden clothes pegs, and wanted another quick, easy and fun thing to make and made these clothes peg planes. They took literally seconds to make, and Ted loved them and flew them round the house afterwards. Continue reading

Clothes Peg Spring Lambs

Spring Lambs

Spring Lambs

With the weather turning milder, and the bulbs showing their colours, we have been feeling all Spring like in our house. I am running a children’s craft workshop in a few weeks with Christine, a great friend of mine, and we are going to be making Spring Lambs. I wanted to make some beforehand, to show in the workshop and had Ted, an enthusiastic little helper. Continue reading

Christmas clothes peg craft ideas

Super cute reindeer from http://www.scissorsandspoons.com

I have always loved making Christmas decorations, from as early as I can remember. My parents still have some of my first Christmas decorations that I made at school,  which they lovingly put onto their tree each year. We enjoy making things with clothes pegs, and Ted has asked to make a clothes peg snow man for our Christmas tree. I found lots of totally inspiring Christmas clothes peg crafts, and here is a round up of our favourites. There is something for everyone, we hope you find something that inspires you if you fancy making something in the run up to Christmas. Continue reading

Home made advent calender

Home made advent calender

Here is my home-made advent calender for Ted, which I have been secretly making for him over the past week. I can’t wait to show it to him, and have put it up along our stairs ready for him to find when he returns home from school. I really wanted Ted to have an advent calender made especially for him, and for each day to provide something fun to do or make as we count the days in Advent towards Christmas. Continue reading

I can’t believe how quickly the summer holidays are flying by, and that in just a week Ted will be starting school. While I was looking through some photos I found these of some gifts that Ted made at the end of the summer term for his pre school teachers. Continue reading
