We love any sort of treasure hunt in our house, especially Easter Egg hunts. Recently, Ted has been doing activities from school to learn about odd and even numbers, and I thought this Easter Egg hunt game would be a really fun way to help to reinforce this learning. Ted has been using tweezers to help strengthen fine motor skills and improve his pencil grip. I thought it would be fun to turn this into a game – and came up with this idea to retrieve nuts and bolts from holes – based on the game operation that we had as kids. Sometimes the simplest things in life give the most pleasure. This home made construction kit was quick and easy to make, and also pretty low cost; it has provided hours of fun.  This is great fun for little ones who are into building or making, and is their own mini DIY kit. Ted has got larger wooden sets of nuts and bolts but has loved using the real things – he feels just like daddy. Continue reading
