Sorting numbers

I can’t resist an opportunity to look at and buy interesting craft materials and am something of a squirrel with a large stash of materials that I know we will find useful one day soon. A couple of weeks ago we popped into The Works and saw these colourful number buttons. I just knew there would be lots of different things that we could do and make with these. This first one here isn’t a craft activity, but it is a fun and creative way to help toddlers learn their numbers as well as strengthen fine motor skills. Ted was really engaged by himself sorting the numbers into the corresponding ice cube tray compartments. We then played different games with it, including each taking it in turns to find a number or call out a number and find it. Ted then thought it would be good fun to sort the buttons by colours.
