Tissue paper windows

We thought we would add a splash of colour into our lives by making these tissue paper stained glass windows – Ted has enjoyed making them so much he has made three and has plans for making more. They are great fun to make and Ted liked ripping the paper before gluing it onto the frame, and carefully chose which colours to put together in each frame. They were quite quick and easy to make and look really colourful in our windows.

Materials

  • Thick card
  • Coloured tissue paper
  • PVA glue
  • Brush or glue spreader
  • Craft knife
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Thread or string
  • Cello-tape

How we made them

  1. Using a ruler, mark out a frame 2cm in from outside edge of rectangle of card
  2. Cut along line, using craft knife and ruler to cut out centre of frame and push out
  3. Rip tissue paper into strips
  4. Glue around edge of frame
  5. Place tissue paper across frame and press onto glued frame
  6. When finished wait to dry then cello-tape thread onto centre top of frame so it can be hung in a window
