In our house we all love the film ‘Finding Nemo’ and would really like to have some fish of our own so at the weekend went to the local aquatics centre to look at the tropical fish. T loved the clown fish that look like Nemo and his dad. We didn’t get any fish, but when we got home decided we would make our own fish tank, one where we could move the fish around, almost like puppets.
What we used
- Two clear grape cartons
- Plastic straws
- Fine string / wool
- Green tissue paper
- Cake cases
- Pipe cleaners
- Coloured sheets of foam
How we made it
- T cut the tissue paper to make seaweed and the cake cases to make coral, then stuffed them through the holes at the bottom of the grape boxes and cello-taped them into position.
- We cut out fish shapes and T stuck on eyes
- Cello-taped fish onto the string, threaded string through holes in upper grape box
- Taped string onto fishing rod straws
We were then ready to do our fish tank puppet theatre
